I turned and they were gone

Singing along

With the radio

And you in my dreams

Or have you gone too?

Where is the peace

That was once in my heart

Rocky Mountain High

A mellow Denver song

Was it right or was it wrong?

You left me behind

To walk a straight and narrow line

And the sun doesn’t shine

In this empty heart of mine

Is there nothing to lose, like an old Joplin tune?

In an old VW van, holding your hand, clapping when we can

A smile that made us free

Like we should or shouldn’t be

And the flowers?

They’re not  gone

They’re blooming in my dreams
