Shout out to IB (Not a Poem)

I love this little town.  Although I visited IB for several years (I live down Thermal in South San Diego, since my husband passed away I have spent more time there and you know this is the kind of town he would have loved.  I wish we frequented it more when he was alive.  What I am most impressed is the young people (of course young to me is anyone in their 20's, 30's, and 40's).
I am seeing a real commitment to their town and what is best for the generations to come.  I am seeing respect and love and parents wanting to help their children in following their dreams and fighting to make those dreams come true.  With this attitude the town will flourish for their children.

My first love was the Class of 1992.  When the boundries changed in 1992, my son who is severely Attention Deficit (or borderline Autistic) had to attend Mar Vista High vice Southwest High.  Most of his classmates had his back.  They helped him have confidence in himself, and many times included him in events, even though it was difficult to keep him on track.  He has become a great man and has learned so much from the men and women of Imperial Beach.

I  have met friends from so many walks of life in the little Beach Town.  IB is a town of diversity, family life and togetherness and love for animals.   Imperial Beach also moves forward with Patch (the Internet Newspaper), and the up to date businesses around town (salons, restaurants, cafes), at the same time keeping with the history, the pier, the neighborhood bars and the newly sanded beach.

This is a shout out to the men, women, children and animals  of IB.  Thank you for being a part of a community of peace, love, and happiness of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
