This Too Shall Pass

Once upon a time, but not so long ago lived a mother. She had a bad day that was a sad day, but nobody knew. She smiled though she hurt. She laughed though she cried inside. Nothing, but everything was on her mind. She got up on the wrong side of the world and she couldn't cope with life.
She should have talked about her problems, but she didn't. Talking is therapeutic, but who cares? She was a functioning robot, living but not alive. Did you ever have one of those days? Did you ever have one of those months?
Pain fogged her brain so she couldn't see beyond her nose.  A pit bull locked his jaw around her mind. Did you ever feel like running away?
It was the same story, but a different day. The monotony of life got her down. The mother was depressed and thinking too much about all the wrong things. She forgot to count her blessings. She forgot to pray and be positive. She lost her smile and her spirit. She forgot how to console herself. She fell down and Band-aids were nowhere to be found.
Later that day on a walk she met a tiny white dove. The angelic dove radiated love The dove was wise and knew exactly what to say.
The dove said,"So you feel like running away." The mother's eyes filled with tears. "Yes, she cried, I'm confused about life. There's more pain than pleasure."
"Oh, no, you're wrong," the tiny dove insisted. "You've just lost your balance. Life is good and life is worth living. The fog will lift and you will see clearly again."
The mother listened as the dove preached. "Quit beating yourself up. Control your thoughts. Don't let your thoughts control you." "Relax," the tiny dove said, "This too shall pass. You will feel better. Have faith so a bright light can show you the way."
A few days later the mother stumbled into the light. She was alive! Inspiration melted the lock that imprisoned her mind. Confusion and pain vanished. Confidence returned. Her joyful spirit danced. Life again made sense. She thanked God. . .Peace found the rainbow in her heart.
