Miracle Monday*Make Your Day*

     * This is a true story written with permission. It happened in California. The names have been changed.*
Recently her dear friend, Fred, called Ms. Mary (his personal banker). Fred told Ms. Mary about Lynne. He explained that Lynne is 26 years-old and a single, working mom.
Lynne needed to open a checking account, but she didn't have much money. The bank she was with charged her monthly fees. Fred asked Ms. Mary if she could help Lynne open an account with no fees. Ms. Mary told Fred, "Absolutely, have Lynne come in, but she'll need $25 to open her account.
Lynne arrived at the bank. Ms. Mary introduced herself and they proceeded to open Lynne's checking account. As Ms. Mary typed Lynne's information onto her computer screen, she explained, "You'll need $25 to open your account."
Lynne thought she could deposit the $25 on her payday. Ms. Mary consoled,"I'm sorry, but I need the $25 today, it can't wait until your payday." Lynne didn't have it. Ms. Mary was going to loan  Lynne the money.
As they continued Ms. Mary asked Lynne, "Are you sure this is your social security number? Could it be one digit off?" Lynne insisted it was correct and showed Ms. Mary her social security card. Ms. Mary asked Lynne, "Have you ever had an account with us?" Lynne answered, "No."
Ms. Mary was confused and perplexed as she looked at her computer screen. Ms. Mary showed Lynne a signature card. She asked Lynne, "Is this your signature?" Lynne said, "Yes." Ms. Mary asked Lynne, "Do you know Robert Soandso?" Lynne answered, "He's my brother. He passed away."
Ms. Mary was emotional and could barely contain herself. Lynne added, "Oh yeah, when I was a little girl he opened a savings account for me. I forgot about it."
Ms. Mary left her chair and went over to Lynne. She gushed, "Your savings account has $20,000 in it!" You have $20,000!" Both women hugged and cried happy tears. A very shocked Lynne asked, "Can I take out $20?"
