                             This I Know

When you fall down, really fall down and hit the ground,
You feel a pain; a sharp pain explodes in your brain.
. . .So what do you do?

When you fall down and you feel pain,
Do you stay there and cry?
Do you ask God why?

Do you feel sad and mad and had?
Or do you know, it wasn't that bad?
When you fall what you feel is real,
But my friend, what to know is how to heal.

What I know my friend, is what I'll tell you,
We all fall down and get black and blue.
We fall down, we nearly die,
And we have a choice to quit or to try.

We can stay down in our self-made Hell,
We can kick and scream and hate while we yell.
Or we can know.
We can know it's not about falling and hurting for years,
It's about getting back up and trying through tears.

When you fall, when you crash land,
Know, really know, God has your hand.
God has an open door,
Knock and you'll know, God loves you more.
