How much longer? I'm hungry
Familiar words we hear
While Mom tends to the turkey
Dad has another beer

Windows fog, kitchen's hot
Dirty pots and pans fill the sink
Brown and serve rolls almost forgot
Kids underfoot want a drink

Set the table without delay
Everything has its place
Scrumptious feast for Thanksgiving day
Remember to say grace

Dressing,scalloped corn and ham
Family with friends munch out
Potatoes, gravy, add a yam
Ruined diets no doubt

"I ate too much," said with a sigh
Clothes feel a little tight
Cook smiles, "Who has room for pie?"
Another homemade delight

We thank God for those far and near
On this memorable date
Tradition continues each year
With good food we celebrate
