Out of Faith Moving Screen and Interfaith Discussion, Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2:00 at the Carlsbad City Library

Jewish Family Service, Interfaith Family, Leichtag Foundation, Center for Jewish Culture, and the Jewish Film Festival present Out of Faith, a movie screening and interfaith discussion, on Sunday, December 15, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Lane, Carlsbad, CA.

Out of Faith is a feature-length documentary that follows three generations as they struggle with complex and emotionally-charged conflicts over intermarriage, familial duty, ethnic identification, and cultural continuity and survival.  How does the grandparents’ experience as Holocaust survivors inform their view on intermarriage?  If tension already exists among the family following intermarriage, how will a new great grandchild be accepted? Follow the Weibel family for three years as they navigate their complicated journey as an interfaith family.

Interfaith families are welcome and encouraged to join in the discussion.  General admission is $8; for Jewish Community Center (JCC) members and students the fee is $6.  Tickets are available online at http://tickets.lfjcc.org or contact the JCC Box Office at (858) 362-1348.
