SPIN SPIN SPIN! After telling the Grand Jury to buzz off no less than 3 times in his tenure, choking traffic, squandering millions for the benefit of a few influential developers...wasting millions more on consultants and lobbyists; trying to steal/ privatize parks and recreation programs; destroying local business's through excessive code enforcement and choking traffic of an award winning tsunami evacuation route becuase they could get SANDAG to pay for some asphalt instead of the General Fund; getting raked by the Attorney General and State Department of Finance....but at least one thing is for sure. Janney and Company have their new Playhouse/ Clubhouse to hang out , schmooze and drink! It only cost you the taxpayers $8 or 9 million by now and all the public parking by the beach is being dominated by employees and patrons of the new attraction. Yea! Thanks a lot Mayor Janney, Gary Brown and Las Tres Cucarachas....That is the state of City in a nutshell. Stupid is! Retire Mayor Janney. You are an embarrassment to the City you represent. Your leadership is about zero since even you rely on others to read legal documents and tell you how to vote. The new hotel has not proven it's business model yet....and you know what still comes up on the beach when it rains. Only time will tell how wise it is to put your faith in an overbudget and 3 year late project. Not that much to crow about. Glad it opened but how many other opening dates were promised. What about all the business's that are gone because of the former RDA....and shouldn't the successor agency be disbanded for being the same thing? What about re-instating the Planning Commission or having voting districts elect Council Memeber from their neighborhoods? I can tell you what Janney will say....EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL....WE'RE DOING A GREAT JOB....RE-ELECT ME FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS....After 4 years as a rubber-stamp councilman and another 8 as a Lame Mayor....it's time for Janney to step down. Janney's response to the Grand Jury should place him in contempt of court. I can't wait to hear his speech!

Ed --- interesting how you and a few others always bitch & moan about the Status Quo but when a viable candidate did run you couldn't be bothered to stand by her side to try to get things changed --- you bluster quite well but it is all hot air ...

I second that Mike.

Jon.....Who is the viable female candidate you say I did not support? Do you have any facts to back that statement up? I'd like to see some candidates run who don't have endorsements and huge war chests from special interests or political PACs. I'd like to see some people run who's only allegence is to their friends and neighbors who live in the community. I could support anyone who's campaign is not run by Michael Carey or the Lincoln Club. So what does that leave that would be viable or competitive? Incumbents forget the voters the day after elections are over. What are the real issues of importance. Grassroots democratic process over regional government dictatorship would be a new direction. Can I.B. survive without kissing SANDAG or the PORT's behind? So who was this lady you say I didn't support. We actually have more in common than we have different Jon.

Ed --- this latest rant just shows how you, as self-proclaimed spokesperson for the opposition, are interested in nothing more than preaching your personal hatred for everyone here --- seems everyone is bad --- all have hidden agendas according to you --- and all seem to want the destruction of IB ...
