"Discovery Labs" at the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center!

IN CELEBRATION OF 150 YEARS OF CALIFORNIA STATE PARKS - A DISCOVERY LAB OPEN HOUSE
WED. FEBRUARY 19th AT THE TIJUANA ESTUARY VISITOR CENTER!

Imperial Beach – On Wednesday, February 19th from 6-8 pm the Tijuana Estuary is hosting the first of a series of FREE weeknight open houses to excite and engage the minds of our community at the Visitor Center.
This month the theme is Your Wonderful Working Wetland where families can explore the many functions of wetlands in hands on activities. This is a rare opportunity to see the Reserve in the evening, when California Light-footed Clapper Rails are calling and the lights of Tijuana are shining to the south.

“We are very excited to invite the community to the Visitor Center at night to engage in the amazing functions of coastal wetlands,” said Anne Marie Tipton, Education Coordinator, Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve.
Folks can get up close and personal with salt marsh plants, and play with a mini wetland in a pan and the Runoff Race.
Call 619-575-3613 or go to http://www.TRNERR.org for more information on the event.
