are thrilled to celebrate Yards
to Yardarms, Chula Vista's first raggle-taggle
waterfront
faire, at Chula Vista’s
beautiful waterfront excursion dock. This innovative,
impromptu
regional event will take place on
February 15th, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM and
will feature a wide array of
activities for the whole family to enjoy. Free to the
public,
this harbor faire and the historic
schooner BILL OF RIGHTS welcomes visitors to her
home in Chula Vista. With Yards of
Canvas to discover from morning until the sun hits
the yardarm! Free Tours of a tall
ship with over 2 Tons of sails canvas. And an eclectic,
inspiring collection of art by
local artists and waterfront activities. A relaxing day of
maritime, art and
music.
Begin your day and take a trip to
an "Age of Sail" by stepping aboard and touring the tall
ship Bill of Rights and
learn about sailing a schooner. Visit South Bayfront
Sailing
Association for a demonstration
and tips on how to make your own canvas boat cover.
Learn to splice a line and make a
“baggie winkle”. Discover opportunities for sailing,
building your own skiff, and other
outdoor adventures in our amazing South Bay parks,
bikeways and waterfront. Engage
with the South Bay SeaScout Ship. Pick up a "used"
nautical treasure offered by
cruisers, items too good to throw away but taking up too
much storage space on the
ship..
Amazing art work by members of
South Bayfront Artists and their friends on display and
available for purchase. Face
Painting, Paint and take activities, Jewelry making and
sales, name creations and much
more with artists from all over the South Bay area. The
Art Kids of San Diego County,”
will be there to share their program and all the benefits
it
provides those young artists that
truly wish to make art a career.

Raggle Taggle Band. Songs and music with a Celtic - Jazz
twist, including sea chanties.

Yards to Yardarms is a community
event held on the Chula Vista Bayfront. The event is

Artists and South Bayfront Sailing Association. We are
supported by California Yacht
Marina in Chula Vista, Chula Vista Marina and RV Park,
and the Port of San Diego We would
also like to thank Art sponsors Blick and Tara
Materials for their support. This
event only happens with the commitment of community
volunteers and the sponsorship and
support of many local businesses and organizations.
South Bayfront Artists are a group
of artists, many of whom live aboard their boats,
dedicated to advancing the arts in
the South Bay. The collaborative includes a variety of
artists whose talents include
videography, photography, traditional oil and watercolor,
sculpture, woodwork, jewelry and
textiles. The group is interested in mentoring young
and emerging artists, offering a
welcoming atmosphere for all levels.
South Bayfront Sailing Association
is a public benefit non-profit organization committed to
benefit the public by offering
programs centered around maritime history, culture,
science and industry, linking
experiential education, science and art in innovative
learning
platforms for all . We are the
home of the historic schooner Bill of Rights and our
members
have been teaching boating skills
and safety in San Diego for the past two decades.
