Missing Teenagers Found in Coronado

The two, who had been missing since Saturday, were located across the street from the Coronado Police Department Thursday morning. One of the two is from IB. His father said it was a case of young love.

Dustin Ogle from Imperial Beach and Hannah Lajaunie from Julian, both 16, were found Thursday morning after a concerned citizen spotted them near Orange Avenue in Coronado, the San Diego Sheriff's Department said.

The two had been missing since Saturday.

“A deputy received a tip that they might be in the area and so he went over there and actually Coronado police had received a call as well and they were looking at them,” said Sgt. Jeff Duckworth of the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Station.

“It turned out they were right across the street from the police station,” he said.

“They just wanted to be together and they thought the only way they could do that was to be out there on their own, so they were sleeping on the beach in Coronado," said Fredd Carr, Ogle’s father.

“They didn’t get married though,” he said jokingly.

“Remember when you were in 16 and you were in love? That’s what it was,” Carr said. “But I got ’em home now so we’re happy.”
