High Surf Advisory Posted for Southern California Beaches Until Friday

High surf with a southerly swell also means an increase in rip currents.

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory that began at 3 a.m. Tuesday and will remain in effect until 3 a.m. Friday as a southern hemisphere swell generates high surf along most of the Orange County shoreline and south-facing San Diego beaches.

During high tide, waves and surf 5- to 8-feet high with 10-foot sets in some places is expected.

The conditions increase the chance of rip currents, so be safe.
