Healing St. Mary's

St. Mary's Episcopal members gathered for the second to last service at the church that will close its doors Sunday after first opening in 1960.

Five people attended a healing prayer service at St. Mary's Episcopal Church to pray together and receive annointment from Rev. Peter Tagdulang.

The group offered prayers for people and issues worldwide: everyone in IB in need of help, the sick, unrest in the Middle East and troops in war zones, among other things.

For one man it was getting over smoking.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church will close its doors Sunday after more than 50 years in Imperial Beach.

“It is with sadness that the decision was made to bring the ministry of St. Mary’s to a close,” said the Rt. Rev. James R. Mathes, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego.

“Churches in Corinth, Philippi, and Ephesus -- churches founded by St. Paul himself -- left no edifice on this earth; yet their work lives on in the memory of every Christian and is a part of the tapestry that is the story of the people of God.”
