Dressed as a witch at her home near the corner of 14th Street and Fern Avenue Wednesday evening, Jeanne Winne was trying to get the motion activated zombie and skeleton on her front lawn to work.

"I don't know what's wrong with them," she said. "All week they've been attacking the mail man and stuff."

She was surrounded by tombstones, jumping spider and cobwebs, a large inflated pumpkin, skeletons, a fog machine and lasers as she handed out full-sized Snickers bars.

"I love Halloween. It's my favorite holiday," she said.

Elsewhere, hundreds came to St. James Lutheran Church for their annual Trunk-or-Treat, where trick-or-treaters went car to car in the church's parking lot.

Strong Tower Community Church or Iglesia de la Communidad Torre Fuerte held its Family Fun Night complete with a puppet show, jump house, arts and crafts and food and candy.

YMCA Camp Surf also held a carnival Wednesday evening.
