Gas Prices Continue to Rise

San Diego County gas prices rose for the 12th consecutive day Tuesday.

As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the cheapest gas in Imperial Beach or west of Interstate 5 could be found for $3.67 at Thrifty gas station at the corner of Saturn Boulevard and Palm Avenue.

The price of gas has increased consistently for the past 12 days, according to data from AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The upward trend reversed what had been a stretch of 56 decreases in 57 days which brought the average retail price of a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline in San Diego County down to $3.676 on July 12, its lowest amount since Jan. 4.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego Tuesday is $3.79.

That is seven cents more than a week ago but three cents less than a month ago.
