Gas Prices Continue to Rise, Approaching $4 a Gallon Average

As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, the cheapest gas gallon of gasoline in Imperial Beach could be found at the Arco station on Palm Avenue between Florida and 12th Streets for $3.83.

Nearby at the Thrifty gas station at the corner of Palm Avenue and Saturn Boulevard you can also buy a gallon of self-serve unleaded for $3.83.

A 14 day streak in the rise of gas prices ended Tuesday with a two-tenths of a cent decrease for an average price of $3.96 in San Diego County, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price
Information Service.

That's 13 cents higher than a week ago, 16 cents higher than a month ago and nearly 93 cents above prices this time last year.

Prices rose 24 cents during the two week streak.
