Cheapest Gas in or Near Imperial Beach

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, the cheapest gas in Imperial Beach or west of Interstate 5 could be found for $4.05 at San Diego Gasoline and Food at the corner of Hollister Street and Coronado Avenue.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose one-tenth of a cent today to $4.17 after decreasing 31 of the previous 33 days.

The average price decreased for 19 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent on April 17, dropped each of the next six days and rose one-tenth of a cent last Tuesday. It fell 16.7 cents over the previous 33 days, including a half-cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

Despite today's slight increase, the average price is 2.7 cents less than one week ago, 14.3 cents lower than one month ago and 7 cents below what it was one year ago.

The declining pump prices stem from a steep decrease to the wholesale gasoline price, said Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
