Batten Down: Gusty Winds in Forecast for Imperial Beach

The National Weather Service warns of heavy winds on the way.

The beginning of the workweek may be a windy one according to the National Weather Service forecast, which calls for gusts up to 30 mph on Monday.

Drizzle may move into IB Sunday night and last into Monday, with things calming down on Tuesday.

Sunday afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. West wind around 10 mph.

Sunday night: A chance of drizzle after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 11am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. West wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 62. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the morning.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.
