Walmart to Open in Fall Now Hiring

The store plans to hire about 200 employees.

Hiring has began for a new Walmart in the Southland Plaza Shopping Center off Palm Avenue, the company announced earlier this month.

The 75,000 square foot store that used to be a Mervyn's will open this fall, likely at the end of October or start of November, spokeswoman Melissa Cameron said.

Job seekers may apply at a temporary hiring facility at 1111 Bay Blvd., Suite A, in Chula Vista Monday to Friday from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. or online at careers.walmart.com
