'Fun Summer Night' at Taste of IB

Attendees walked Seacoast Drive and Old Palm Avenue to sample the sort of services and treats local businesses have to offer.

In votes cast by attendees,  won the award for Best Customer Service,  won Best Giveaway and  won Best Presentation.

D'ames Day Spa gave away more than $3,500 in massages, facials and other services at the event, said owner Christine LaPausky

She said she felt this was the best Taste of IB since the event began in 2001. With so many past summer get togethers canceled or gone, the community and its businesses needed Taste of IB and the Saturday.

"We really needed some fun down here," she said. "We've had construction noise and dirt for so long, along with no Sandcastle [Competition], no Sandcastle ball, no or BBQ. We were overdue on bringing the community out for a fun summer night."

Surf and Turf Car Show organizers told IB Patch the permit for their annual event that spans Seacoast Drive was denied this year due to street improvements.
