Save-A-Lot Returns to IB Area to Replace Old Albertsons

The discount supermarket will replace an Albertsons that left the area at the end of June.

Save-A-Lot will return to the Imperial Beach-Nestor area, U-T San Diego reported Wednesday. The discount supermarket will take the place of an after decades in the community.

As more than a dozen businesses left the Miracle Shopping Center last year to make way for a new development, several to hear that Save-A-Lot was leaving.

Formerly known as Save-U-Foods, there are Save-A-Lot locations in Chula Vista, El Cajon and other parts of San Diego.

According to the County of San Diego Assessors Office, the store at 1860 Coronado Ave. is owned by Albertsons and Save-A-Lot's parent company Supervalu.
