Northside Shack Reaches Funding Goal But Lacks Location

Northside Shack, an organic food restaurant and juice bar proposed by Imperial Beach resident Pamela Olvera, has reached its $5,000 fundraising goal and received a Kiva Zip loan Tuesday.

The business received loans from 114 individual lenders almost entirely outside of Imperial Beach that will allow Northside Shack to purchase supplies and equipment but a location has not yet been identified, Olvera said.

Previous plans to replace The Bridge at 874 Seacoast Dr. fell though, she said.

The sad part is IB needs things like this, but crummy old shops won't leave that should. Wally's needs to be destroyed, torn down, rebuilt and replaced with a Fresh and Easy. That weird knick knack store next to surf hut needs to be taken out and replaced with a fish and bait store, where you can rent rods as well. If Dame's Spa is moved into the hotel Northside shack should try there. There are so many empty lots that people won't let go that are holding back the city of IB. The lot across from the pier, The lot in between Silver Strand Blvd and Calla, The lot across from Mickie's on 2nd and Palm, the lot next to the Yoga building on Palm Avenue. Sell the lots, legally, properly for what their valued an let businesses as well as the community grow giving more options to enjoy our town.
