K Pasta Grand Opening on 13th and Donax Tuesday

K Pasta, a new home cooked pasta restaurant, opened in Imperial Beach Tuesday.

K Pasta opened its doors for the first time Tuesday on the corner of 13th Street and Donax Avenue in Imperial Beach.

The restaurant serves several different types of homemade pasta, salads and sandwhiches, boasting whole wheat pastas and roasted vegetables for healthy dining options. Beers and wines are available, as well as deserts, like mini pies and ice cream.

The restaurant's food is based on family recipes, which is described as "simple, home made" dishes by owner Kraig Kirsner.

When asked to describe K Pasta in a sentence, Kirsner said, "We're a simple, home made, whole food pasta place for IB. We've lived here awhile, and we want a place for the people of IB to come and have good home made pasta."

Just back from dinner for the wife and I. Nice to see another addition to the IB dining seen! I had the Italian Roast Beef Sandwich, it was really generous and gooood! Watch out though, it's got a bite to it. Next time I'll order a little more mild. The wife had the angel hair past (made on the spot) with the vegetable curry sauce (made fresh today). She said it was to die for. We took home our homemede ice cream sandwiches for later on. Very courteous staff, clean, and a beer and wine license. Kind of a random spot but the food was very good. Good luck, hope our city supports you!

Just ate there with my wife who always makes home-made pasta. She loved it! We have a winner here in IB. The pasta and sauce were GREAT and the price is right. Two thumbs up for K-Pasta!

Just ate here for lunch and will definitely return. I had the spinach pasta with tomato basil sauce. I paid the extra 1.50 for fresh veggies and it was well worth it. The staff was very friendly and offered me a sample of the curry sauce. I really liked it but was looking for something to share with my 3 year old. I will get the curry sauce next time for sure. The staff also recommended a wine that was fantastic and let me sample it as well prior to making a selection. Great spot for lunch.

Have eaten here 2 times. Friendly servers. Excellent food. I especially liked the "La Diabla" pasta. It had a good kick and would work with most of the sauces. I think this place has made it to my top five favorites places to eat.
