Cheapest Gas in or Near Imperial Beach

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, the cheapest gallon of gasoline in or near Imperial Beach could be found at the Arco station on Palm Avenue between 12th and Florida Streets for $3.67.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell a half-cent Tuesday to $3.85, the fifth consecutive decrease after increasing 11 of the previous 12 days.

That's 2.1 cents less than a week ago, 4.2 cents less than a month ago and 71.7 cents more than this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price fell six-tenths of a cent on Friday, a half-cent on Saturday, nine-tenths of a cent on Sunday and eight-tenths of a cent on Monday.

"Prices typically decrease in the fall and we might be seeing the start of that traditional decrease due to cheaper winter grade gasoline and lower demand," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
