Vacant Beachfront Building to Become Yoga Studio; Art Show Saturday

Two young artists who helped paint a new mural on the side of a building on Seacoast Drive will host an art show Saturday.

Artists Thomas Maher and Chris Lizarraga have worked over the past few months to paint a new mural on the side of a vacant building on Seacoast Drive near Palm Avenue. 

The building was a church for a short time, and had a mural of Jesus' crucifixion on the side of the wall. It will be converted into a yoga studio in a couple months, the building's managers at said. 

Maher and Lizarraga will host an art show Saturday from 5-10 p.m. together with mosaic tile and graffiti artist Eric De La Rosa and .

The will be held at the West Coast Cafe March 31.  

Later that day, near 20 artists including locals Terry Gillard and Greg Broadfoot, will be featured at the South of You Art and Photo Show at The Spot in Barrio Logan.

Maher and Miller's work will again be featured at West Coast Cafe for another show April 7.
