Want to Start a Business in IB? Attend the IB Business Expo, Today
Today, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Marina Vista Community Center, representatives from various industries will lead discussions on issues of importance for business owners, including finance, tourism, and marketing.
The third annual Imperial Beach Business Expo, organized by the IB Improvement District, in partnership with the IB Chamber of Commerce, is offering a business workshop for existing and potential business owners this Thursday.
Break-away sessions will be conducted on business finance, tourism in your business, and marketing social media, amongst other topics, according to COC Representative Kim Palkovic.
Each topic will be presented by a panel of 3 speakers, and followed by a 20-30 minute panel discussion, and a question and answer period.

New this year, speakers from Convis, Score, Port of San Diego, and Accion are scheduled, amongst others, said Palkovic.
"We have speakers from many different industries, to give business owners, or people thinking of owning, an idea of what they'll need to start," said IB BID Chairperson Mike Osborn.

Osborn said that the goal is to help businesses with the many needs that they have, and answer questions concerning topics like navigating ordinances, commercial zoning, and parking requirements.
