The ONLY solution to stop the continuing decay of the Salton Sea is to first stop the flow of pollution from Mexico in the form of the New River. Secondly, connect to the Sea of Cortez via an aquaduct. Anything else is good money after bad creating the best managed cesspool in the world.

I reccomend Google Earth that not only will show the Sea, but its proximity to the Sea of Cortez as the New River flows into it from Mexico as well.
