Special Board Meeting to Discuss Superintendent Ed Brand's Contract

Concerned Neighbors, Parents and Taxpayers,

The district has posted a notice for a special board meeting to be held on Monday, Sept. 10 at 6:30pm at the , Administration Center, 1130 Fifth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91911.

This is the point on the agenda where members of the public may address the board on any matter posted for the special meeting.  

We need to get the word out to everyone about this meeting and encourage them to attend and use the public comment portion of the meeting to let the board know your opinion. 

I encourage you to forward this to your friends and neighbors to attend.  I think personally attending a school board meeting changed the way I understand the way things work. 

It was an eye opener for me and I think it will be for you too.    

This meeting is called to discuss the interim superintendent's new 2-year contract. 

I believe the scheduling of this meeting at 6:30pm during Monday Night Football when the Chargers open their season against the Raiders was a strategic move to avoid public attendance.  

It is my understanding that the focus of this meeting is the interim Superintendent, Ed Brand’s two-year consultant contract worth $280,000.00 per year.
