Imperial Beach's Teagan Taylor Trio have been nominated in the San Diego Music Award's Best Jazz Album category. Nominations were announced Sunday for this year's award show to be held Oct. 9 at Humphrey's By the Bay.

"We are very proud of this new album, and are quite honored to be nominated again this year, and are extremely happy that our music is being acknowledged in the music industry," said Dylan Taylor.

The group regularly perform at venues across the country and San Diego including concerts at the Coronado Ferry Landing.

You can catch the Teagan Taylor Trio from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Imperial Beach Certified Farmers Market for a Sunset Celebration Mini-Concert.

Among other local acts to receive an SDMA nod, Chet Cannon & The Committee, a group that can be found most weekends at South Bay Lounge in the 1400 block of Palm Avenue, were nominated in the Best Blues Band category.

Nominations are decided by a a group of radio DJs, bar and venue owners and music journalists.

B-Side Players, whose front man Karlos Paez is from Chula Vista, have won three SDMA awards since 2009, according to San Diego Reader. The group was again nominated in the Best World Music Album category for their latest recording, Revolutionize.
