Get Out: Surf Town Triathlon, 40 Years for Border Field, Food Truck Festival
Your Patch guide to weekend happiness.
Weather reports call for a cloudy weekend in San Diego, but nevermind the weather, there's plenty to do.
This weekend, Aug. 19-21, Imperial Beach has some great activities, lectures and entertainment available. There will be a guest speaker at the estuary that will get you thinking about the impact of marine debris, you can make a ceramic bowl at the Farmers Market or you can participate in the Surf Town triathlon and duathlon and show off your endurance.
Nearby Coronado has a bodysurfing event to romp around in and the Navy band will be playing at Spreckels Park. Travel north to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for some food-truck fun or south to Border Field State Park to celebrate the park's 40th anniversary.
