¡Que Viva! Cine Latino Film Festival Begins Wednesday

The ¡Que Viva! Cine Latino Film Festival will take place every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. from Sept. 5-26 at the Otay Ranch Town Center.

In conjunction with the Media Arts Center of San Diego, films will be shown in the shopping center's Food Pavillion.

Precious Knowledge will be played Sept. 19.

The film about Ethnic Studies student's fight to keep Mexican American Studies at Tucson High School was made by Eren McGinnis, who grew up in Imperial Beach.

In 2011, Precious Knowledge was at the San Diego Latino Film Festival.

The film also won a Cine Festival award, and in 2012 McGinnis won the Estela award for Latino Filmmaker of the Year.

Earlier this year the film made its nationwide debut on PBS.

McGinnis will be available after the movie for Q&A.
