A car show fundraiser was held Sunday in Kearney Mesa to benefit the family of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone "Ty" Woods including his four-month-old son Kai.
Woods, who lived in Imperial Beach, was killed while saving American lives during a Sept. 11 attack at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Led by Kai's godfather Matt Grenfell, thus far the group has raised about $450,000, NBC San Diego reported.
“He died with a sword in his hand, just how he’d like to,” Grenfell told U-T San Diego.
