Between 40 and 50 Imperial Beach businesses, from restaurants to hair stylists, will showcase the variety of flavors they bring to to IB Sunday 1-4 p.m.

San Diego’s “Taste of” series have become an integral part of showing off the region's many cities and neighborhoods.

While others throughout the county, like the Taste of Italy and Taste of Hillcrest primarily focus on food, the Taste of IB allows businesses of all kinds to participate.

IB Business Improvement District Chairperson Mike Osborne said that the event allows any merchant who wants to showcase the services they offer a venue to do so.

“A lot of businesses, especially start-ups, don’t have the money to advertise. Participation in Taste of IB is a way for them to get the word out to the public as to what they offer and the services they provide,” Osborne said, noting that businesses who wish to participate are able to do so at no cost.

“Many times people will drive by a business five times a week and never think to stop there. So this is a win-win for everyone,” he said.
