Students Get Palm Avenue Billboard After Winning 'Got Milk?' Contest

Members of the Bonita Vista High School football team won $1,000 and a billboard with their pictures on it in the 1300 block of Palm Avenue as part of a Got Milk? ad campaign.

Westbound Palm Avenue drivers got a healthier view of life Thursday after the unveiling of a "Got Milk?" billboard with photos of Bonita Vista High School football players.

"My teammates and coaches and I really came up with the idea for things that help us excel in school: academics, athletics and of course milk," junior Alex Ohlendorf said during a press conference in the parking lot of the Capri Lodge mobile home park less than a block outside Imperial Beach.

For winning the Got Milk? Breakfast Billboard Photo Contest and beating out more than 50 other entries from across California, Ohlendorf was given $1,000 which he donated to the school's football team, possibly to buy more equipment for their weight room.
