Imperial Beach is a Live Well San Diego Designated City

On Tuesday, June 3, the South Region Live Well San Diego Leadership (LWSD) Team will host the Live Well San Diego Forum, highlighting Imperial Beach as one of the South Region Cities designated as LWSD Cities. The forum will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the National City Higher Education Center, located at 880 National City Boulevard, in National City.

The forum will serve as a venue to share best practices and lessons learned on the efforts Imperial Beach offers to help to create healthy, safe and thriving communities. It will also provide cities with an opportunity to share their future plans, a key element as this LWSD journey continues. Since 2013, National City, Coronado, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach and City of San Diego have been working to promote and foster overall health and wellness for the residents they serve.

Supervisor Greg Cox will be present at the forum to also share current LWSD efforts the County has in place. He will be conducting a special presentation focused on one of the most valuable resources in a community, parks. Imperial Beach Public Works Director Hank Levien will be speaking on city efforts which foster overall health and wellness, including the Bayshore Bikeway Access project, Elm Avenue Safe Routes, the 13th Street Bikeway Project, the SR75 Master Plan.
