Free Tuesdays in Balboa Park and Summer Fun in San Diego

For kids this summer, there are plenty of things you can do for fun, like days camps in IB and free admission to museums in Balboa Park.

Yes, it is soon summertime!

The middle and high school kids are out and the South Bay Union School District’s last day is June 24.

The kiddos have several weeks of vacation to recharge their batteries before they head back to hit the books. So, what to do in the meantime?

And outside IB, after much discussion among the moms in my life, we decided one of the best deals around is Free Tuesdays in Balboa Park.

Yes, every Tuesday a selection of the museums in Balboa Park have free admission! So, use the following schedule and consider spending every Tuesday this summer in the park—truly one of the most beautiful urban treasures in America.

First Tuesdays

Fourth Tuesdays

Fifth Tuesdays

  • Regular admission prices are in effect.

The Botanical Building is open every day except Thursday. Admission is always free.

Some museums may offer complimentary admission to their permanent collections only and charge for admission to special exhibitions, showings and other events. Please call individual museums for information.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Elementary school students are back in the classroom Aug. 15. Sweetwater Union High School District begins July 20.
