Updated: Water Contact Closure Lifted for Imperial Beach

Testing confirms water quality in Imperial Beach meets State health standards.

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) has lifted the water contact closure for the Imperial Beach shoreline. This includes the beach-line from Carnation Avenue in Imperial Beach (including Camp Surf) to the south end of Seacoast Drive.

Recent water quality testing conducted by DEH confirms that water quality meets State health standards at these beaches. This area was recently closed to water contact due to suspected sewage impacts.
