Threatened with a Knife, Five Males Detained on Palm Ave.

Shortly after an incident by the AM/PM on Palm Ave., where a man was threatened with a knife, five male suspects were detained and searched on 13th & Palm Avenue.

According to eyewitness reports, at approximately 11:15 A.M. today, a verbal altercation between a couple in an SUV and five male pedestrians - "apparent gang members" - quickly escalated when the driver exited his vehicle only to be confronted by one - in a Charges jersey - with a 7" knife.   Upon spotting the one with a knife, and the other four beginning to circle around, the male driver male immediately threw up his hands and backed away, retreating to the cab of his truck to quickly, and safely speed away.

The five men continued walking abreast, east on Palm Avenue, "leaving no room for passing pedestrians", while reportedly "bullying everyone that past by or looked at them - by shadow boxing."

A few minutes later, sheriff's deputies made contact with the group of late teens/early 20's shaved-head, Hispanic males at the NW corner of 13th and Palm Avenue, where the knife wielding suspect was searched, hand-cuffed, and placed into the back of a patrol car.

I didn't stick around to see if everyone was arrested, although it did not appear the searches turned up any contraband, and no one else was cuffed after being searched.

Would you call the police if you witnessed something like this?

What would you do if you were forced to share the sidewalk with a group like this?

Do you think Charges jersey's are commonly associated with gangs?
