Starting Over in IB

Im relocating to san diego from missouri. I found IB and I have heard great things about this town and it seems to really fit me and my two kids 15 and 6. Can some of the locals tell me somethings I should know before moving. Good and not so good are fine. I live in st.louis mo. I am starting life over after a divorce and returning to school to study Biotechnology at Southwestern college. I would like to know more about apartment rentals in places that would be great for kids and just things to do with my family. This is really a new clean slate for us and I just want to make the transition a good one. We have been through a lot and I hope IB will be a place we can forever call home home:)
