SDSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Hosts Spring Kick-off Event

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University, offered through SDSU’s College of Extended Studies, will host its spring semester kick-off event beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on campus.

The event for individuals ages “50 and better” starts with a program orientation for new students. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. as new and returning students receive an opportunity to mingle.

SDSU President Elliot Hirshman, who will be giving a lecture during the spring semester, will be among the Osher faculty members presenting short previews of their courses from 10-11:45 a.m. Students will have a chance to register for classes during the event starting at 11:45 a.m., before registration opens to the public on Feb. 12. Event participants will also be able to enter an opportunity drawing for a free membership, Book Club books, and Film and Performing Arts Club prizes.

SDSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers a vibrant learning community and state-of-the-art classrooms, where students learn from outstanding faculty from SDSU and other universities, as well as from award-winning authors and artists. There are no tests, grades or exams – just a chance to dive into learning and recapture the thrill of intellectual growth and the camaraderie created by exciting discussions with curious fellow learners.
