The New York Times reports in a recent article that online certificate programs continue to be on the rise in the United States.
The Times story leads with the following: “As employers demand skills and more skills, many people are turning to online certificate programs to acquire a specific expertise that can lead them to a job or a promotion — or, sometimes, simply to ensure that they hang on to their current position.”
SDSU's College of Extended Studies provides such online offerings whereby individuals can advance their careers by increasing their knowledge and skills at their own pace with Professional Development Online (PDOL) programs. Students will be able to instantly access training at the office, at home, or on the road. PDOL provides students with a wide range of flexible, convenient, and affordable learning opportunities and is available 24/7, wherever a computer can be accessed.
Students may choose to take online programs to earn a certificate in fields such as: accounting and finance, administrative support, PMI-Agile certified practitioner, communications, desktop computer skills, human resources, information technology, management and leadership, marketing, Microsoft certified IT professional, process improvement/Six Sigma, project management, small business management, and much more.
As a PDOL student, individuals have unlimited access to all materials for a full year.
