House Party Rules Changing?

If you're having  a party you might want to budget in some extra money...especially if one of your friends shows up with a kid/minor in tow. That'l cost you  a cool grand!

As was noted in previous stories, City Council had an agenda item last meeting to change the house party ordinance to make it easier for them to collect the fines....especially if there are minors present at a house party. Young people in the military like to have parties sometimes and since they are usually transient; the city looks at them like "EASY PREY & EASY MONEY". This law may actually be profiling this group for heavy enforcement since it is a significant part of the demographic....and transient. Many stay registered to vote back home and don't participate in local elections. They should ...if not for themselves....for the men and women who serve who will follow them here someday.

If you are having a party with alcohol and there are any minors present (even your own kids) you could be out some hefty bucks if someone complains about your party? Perhaps someone else might like to comment on the difference between the old house party ordinance from 2004 and the proposed new one?

I'm curious if it's Jewish High Holidays and they give the kid  a glass of Mogan David...do they all go to jail and get fined?  And since when is it so important for City Hall to regulate what goes on behind closed doors on private property? We're not talking NSA.We're not talking junk cars on the front lawn.  We're talking about City Hall making these kinds of decisions? Is this a violation of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness or just another way to make money off what's going to happen anyway? As long as the drinking age is 21.....teens will want to drink even more because; it's forbidden and it's basic human nature to challenge that authority as part of the rights of puberty or passage to adulthood. Minors will still find a way to drink but, the city will make more money?
