An agreement was reached last night at the City Council meeting so that Imperial Beach will have fireworks this 4th of July. A citizens group has been able to raise the first installment for the Pyrotechnical Contractor and the City has agreed to provide Law Enforcement and Sanitation Services as their share.  Local Citizens will be fund raising with donation cans....so if you want fireworks this 4th of July....pitch in whatever you can when you see the donation cans.  More to follow. Congratulations to Candy Unger, Tim O'Neal and all the others who worked so hard to bring back the boom!

"Local Citizens will be fund raising with donation cans..." Have all possible - and previous - sponsors been approached for sponsorship? Seems like a huge amount of money to have donated by local residents. I know the water companies (Arrowhead, Sparkletts, ect...) are good for a thousand or two...

One more positive post about our city and the residents of IB. What a great little city we live in. Thank you to the city and volunteers that helped make this happen.
