A special City Council meeting will take place Friday at the odd time of 3:40 p.m.
Stranger still, the meeting was announced Thursday afternoon after city staff declared last month Council would not convene until Jan. 26.
Agenda items are set to take action on four different items. Three of the four include the city Redevelopment Agency.
City manager Gary Brown showed a lot of concern over Governor Jerry Brown's budget proposal released earlier this week which suggests cutting redevelopment agencies statewide as part of next year's budget. , he said.
He said he can see how it may seem like the meeting is being called in response to concerns over that possible cut, but is rather an effort to solidify city loans made to the redevelopment agency.
