Addicted to high density

Our city council voted again for more high density last night. Agenda item 4.2 allows for six , 3 bedroom condos to be built with 6 off street parking spaces. That is 18 people for 6 spaces. With one person per bedroom. The number required is 1.5 per unit. I do not believe the 1.5 number was just dreamed up. It is the number all builders must abide by.
The condos will have ZERO alley off set. 5 feet minimum is required for all residential buildings.
Required. Front off set is 15 feet. This sweetheart deal has 6 feet.  The building is not to the code of the hoi polloi and commoners. It is a unanimous vote when the council has your back. Change is coming at city hall.

Where is this project to be located? Thanks for the info, it sounds outrageous and another example of how the elected members of the City sell us out.

Pop Quiz - Thanks for the info. Those setbacks are ridiculous and also represent a new precedent for new development in IB. The City will sell out the taxpayers any chance they get to fund their re-election campaigns. Campaign finance reform is badly needed.

I agree Keen. I have always believed any political contributors should require an SSI number. That would cut out foreign governments, corporations and Unions. This is obviously a sweetheart deal for someone. All we have to do is try to park in PB or OB after work to figure out one parking place for a 3 bedroom condo is very, very stupid. And with that stupidity the quality of life is diminished for everyone. I am sure their neighbors are going to love them taking all of the on street parking. And based on Traditional IB behaviors they are going to use that one car garage for storage. So all the cars go into the street (no driveway= condos) Remember these are 3 bedroom condos. Look around your own lives and figure out your bedroom to car ratio. Is one parking place for 3 bedrooms even close? Go to the meetings, then vote them out this year. Change is coming
