Politicians.....blame some one else. Representatives stand up for the voters and do what is right. I remember some young guy blocking the sewage flowing out of the Tijuana river with a bulldozer. That was leadership! and doing what he believed in. Those days are gone, there are no leaders in this council. I think a big Apartment owner with ties to election campaigns has a hand in this trashing of IB idea. Sub standard housing is Not the answer! This is a scam and will destroy this wonderful little town. Remember to vote in November!

Well exactly as expected. The public spoke out unanimously against the changes to zoning code. Seconds later, The IB City Council voted unanimously to support the high density low quality changes. displaying complete disregard and disdain for the residents and voting public . The fact that the low density building codes were voted into place in a general election by a majority of IB voters. Again our American democratic process brushed aside by this council for their high density cronies sub standard developments. The same night, they ramrodded a new hotel through at the beach. More traffic, more density, more people. Did anyone know about this Hotel before today? Besides the weasels and cronies? They have to rush this hotel deal through before elections......Unbelievable. No public hearings nothing. The goal is 5-6 hotels for Synergy. Bye bye small town charm, hello Miami Beach glitz. You have been sold out by 5 Seacoasters

I am hoping to transfer in my job back to San Diego, preferably IB that I love, to be near my disabled Veteran daughter. I do not make much, but I have a Bachelor Degree, have owned 5 homes, never broke the law, and I am very clean:) I see the ROOMS run about $500, a room! To be near my daughter tho I would give up everything, which is the case if I am to move back home & live in a room. Maybe these housing proposals would include a community association that would enforce the housing codes for appearance & cleanliness. Issue warnings with eviction as a final solution. I certainly do not want to live in a substandard community! Please, though, folks not all of us have money! If someone has a well paying position I am listening:) Then I would be glad to rent an apartment.

I watched the video of the meeting and from what I was able to understand (the audio is sort of crappy at times) --- anyway, it seems this is a nearly 10 year old California law finally being pushed on the town --- and no one here had a choice ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perhaps someone could clarify this for an old man ...

That's right Jon, and the section on parcel combination was 86ed because the citizens voted to ban them in 1992
