Rodrigo’s Mexican Food Family Restaurant Closes its Doors
The restaurant is believed to have closed within the past month.
Rodrigo’s Mexican Food Family Restaurant in the Silver Strand Shopping Center on Palm Avenue has shut down.
The store's owners could not be reached for comment but a letter saying the following was posted at the front door.
To all our valued customers:
Unfortunately, Rodrigo's Mexican Food Restaurant has closed.
We thank you for your patronage over the years. From our family to yours, we wish you health, success and blessings for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Pablo and Maria
Robert Braboy showed up at the store Friday afternoon for lunch and was disappointed to find it shut down.
“I’d usually get the burrito platter,” he said. “I was just getting to know it (the restaurant).”
Braboy said he appreciated supporting the family owned business.
“Our little bit of money doesn’t mean much to a big business but it means a lot to these little mom and pop shops,” he said.

I am surprised. They were always fairly busy when I went in. Best Pollo Asado Burritos anywhere, and prices were just great.

I'm very disappointed as well. I always felt it was the cleanest Mexican restaurant in town and the only one to serve my favorite chill verde burritos.
I wish you well Pablo

I was just telling my friends at work about this place. They had the best carnitas. Too bad they couldn't make it. I try to eat a local IB eateries whenever possible.

I am the daughter of the owners and yes, unfortunately we had to close down. It was a dear place to us but, you gotta do what you gotta do. Thank you for your concern. God bless you. :)
