Construction Begins on Skate Park Fence

The new fence should be installed within a month, the company contracted to do the job said.

Construction began on a fence to surround the Imperial Beach Skate Park last Wednesday.

The fence was approved by City Council at a meeting in January after local residents complained and the Sheriff's Department said the skate park was the number one cause of calls for service in Imperial Beach.

Installation should be completed within a month, said Joseph Maletic, a Harris Steel Fence Company project manager. East and west facing walls were completed Monday and Tuesday.
