Arson Suspect Arrested After Molotov Cocktail Incident
Manuel David Oceguera faces charges of arson and violating a protective order to prevent domestic violence.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at a car on 7th Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department Bomb/Arson Unit.
Around 4:50 a.m. April 21 the sheriff's department responded to a call that a parked car was set on fire at 576 7th St.
Manuel David Oceguera was arrested May 2 on charges of arson of property and the use of an incendiary device and held on $350,000 bail, according to the sheriff's department.

"It appears to be an isolated incident unrelated to recent fires in the area," said Detective John Debus in a statement.
About an hour before the incident on 7th Street, two teenagers were arrested for allegedly trying to light a car that was reported stolen on fire. Earlier in the same week last month, another Molotov cocktail was thrown at a motor home parked on 9th Street.

Oceguera plead not guilty at his arraignment Monday and is due back in court May 13 for a readiness conference, according to District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Tanya Sierra.
He also faces two counts of violation of a court order to prevent domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon and threatening to commit a crime to cause death or great bodily injury.
